Bad Movies Beware!

Paranormal Activity

Okay, I hope you’re sitting down. I actually REALLY liked this one! Don’t worry, as far as I know Hell hasn’t frozen over, but I have to say that this was one seriously creepy movie. Yes, it was done in the same vein as Blair Witch, but gone is the headache cam and the absolute torrents of profanity that made that movie a little less believable. Paranormal Activity is about a couple in San Diego who buy a house and find out that they are not alone. They are able to capture some very eerie footage that would make anyone else go “Hell, no! We’re getting the fuck out!” It all leads up to an ending that will have you looking over your shoulder-if you watch the theatrical ending and not the lame-o alternate ending. The scares in this one are not your typical shockers. This movie is not out to jolt you out of your skin. It’s all about the creep-factor. There are some very eerie sequences that make you sometimes need to lean forward and really make sure that you are truly seeing what you think your seeing. No CG, nothing fancy, just every ghost story you’ve ever heard come true. If you’re looking to scare the shit out of yourself long after you’ve turned off the DVD/Blu-Ray player, definately check this one out. It’s well worth it!

This flick was definitely a win. I was expecting an entertaining typical ghost movie and was glad to that I got more then I bargined for. It is one that still sticks in my head when I turn the lights off at night…which is what we all need from a good horror movie!!
